AvantGarden-Empowering Romanian Youth through Non-Formal Education

0

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Get ready to experience an adventure of a lifetime in the beautiful country of Romania with the AvantGarden project! As a volunteer, you will be a part of a team that aims to create a safe and exciting space for rural youth in Cogealac. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will involve planning and organizing educational, cultural, and artistic activities for young people using non-formal teaching methods. You’ll have the opportunity to share your native language, lead workshops on arts and crafts, and even teach theater courses! Not only will you gain valuable skills and knowledge from this experience, but you’ll also be equipped with the tools to help other communities overcome challenges, such as space constraints, through efficient building techniques.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

You’ll be living in a cozy house with everything you need, including a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and even Romanian SIM cards! And if you want to explore the area, you’ll have access to a car for your activities and free time. Plus, you’ll receive a daily food allowance of €5 and pocket money of €3. You’ll be responsible for cooking, but don’t worry – you’ll have plenty of time to experiment with local recipes and make new friends while doing it. And the best part? Your travel expenses will be reimbursed. So pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable experience!

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

The first month of the project is all about training and induction. You’ll receive a comprehensive orientation to get you up to speed, and then you’ll dive into workshops and hands-on training to build skills in project management, teamwork, communication, and leadership. We’ll also cover topics like sustainable agriculture, environmental education, and community development, so you’ll be equipped with everything you need to succeed. And don’t worry, it won’t be all work and no play! We’ll mix in some fun team-building activities to keep things lively. So get ready to learn and grow.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive volunteers who are passionate about non-formal education and working with rural youth. No specific skills or experience are required, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are a must! If you have any special talents or interests, we’d love to hear about them and find ways to incorporate them into the project. As an international team, we value diversity and welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and cultures. So if you’re ready for a new adventure, come join us in Cogealac and make a difference in the lives of young people!
