About Doha Institute 

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) was founded in Qatar in 2015 as a Doha-based independent institution of higher education. The Institute offers MA and PhD programs in two schools: the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy. Scholarship Terms

1- Students who have previously benefited from the same scholarships, in a previous period of study in doctoral studies, do not benefit from the grants offered by the Institute, whether this culminated in obtaining an academic degree or not.

2- It is not permissible for any student to combine the scholarships of the Institute with any other scholarship, whatever its source, except with the prior approval of the Doctoral Studies Council.

3- Students who receive a full scholarship must commit themselves to work for the Institute in the fields of research, teaching and any other fields required of them, for a period of not less than ten hours per week during the semesters. The working hours for recipients of partial grants are determined in proportion to the value of the grant, provided that they do not exceed fifteen hours per week.

4- The Doctoral Studies Council, in consultation with the programs and colleges, determines the required fields of work. Continuing to benefit from the institute’s grants is conditional on the fulfillment of the obligations specified above.

Scholarship types

1- Scholarship for the first phase of enrollment in doctoral studies; This scholarship is awarded according to merit, and according to the criteria described below.

2- The scholarship for the second stage of registration, which is to devote yourself to reading blogs; Obtaining this degree is linked to achieving a cumulative grade point average of no less than 3.5 in doctoral studies courses in the first phase.

3- Scholarship for the third stage of registration to prepare for the dissertation; Obtaining it is associated with success in the Comprehensive Examination.

The Admissions Department sends the scholarship online application form link to all accepted students and the scholarship application includes fields to be filled in; Such as the student’s personal data, and the family’s monthly income, and spending data, with supporting documents attached to the student’s data.

  • Students are given an opportunity to fill out the application with the required data and attach the required documents.
  • The Admission and Grants Committee is entrusted with examining applications for grants, and the student’s financial need for the grant is taken into account.
  • After deciding on all scholarship applications, students will be informed of the final results and percentages of the approved scholarships.

Scholarship Terms

  • No student may combine the Institute’s scholarships with any other scholarship, regardless of its source.
  • Only students in good academic standing continue to benefit from the Institute’s scholarships. The institute has the right, according to procedures it determines, to withdraw scholarships from students who violate this condition.
  • Students enrolled in executive master’s programs, diplomas, or specialized certificates do not benefit from the grants offered by the institute. They can benefit from external sponsorship grants according to the terms of each grant.
  • Students who have previously benefited from the same grants in a previous period of study in any of the Institute’s programs do not benefit from the scholarships offered by the Institute. Whether this culminated in obtaining the academic degree or not.

The scholarship is based on academic merit, which is the Tamim Scholarship

  • It is a scholarship based on merit and academic excellence; It is dedicated to the most distinguished Qatari and international students in Qatar and the Arab world.
  • The scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees for students according to each program for Qatari students and residents of the State of Qatar.
  • The scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees for students according to each program for international students, and its benefits include:
