Funding Offered in the Scholarship
Funding for International Student Scholarships are scholarships offered by the university to new applicants from outside the State of Qatar. It is not allowed to carry over the scholarship to the following academic year, and applicants for this scholarship are selected on a competitive basis. The aim of the scholarship is to attract academically outstanding international students to Qatar University. The following will be financed:-

Conditions for applying
- The applicant must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- The percentage of applicants in high school should not be less than 95%.
- The applicant must obtain a final (unconditional) admission to the university.

Conditions for Continuity
- The student’s cumulative average at the university should not be less than 3.0 out of 4.0.
- Passing at least 12 credit hours per semester.
- To be registered in all semesters (fall and spring) consecutively.
- The student should not exceed the approved period of study in the academic program according to the study plan.
- Comply with all university regulations, policies, and procedures followed at Qatar University.

While there are a growing number of universities in Qatar, so far just one is featured in the QS Arab Region University Rankings. This is Qatar University.
In addition to its own homegrown institutions, Qatar is also home to many branch campuses run by overseas institutions. These are clustered together at Education City, a large campus built as part of the Higher Supreme Council’s education reforms, hosting branches of leading US universities including Cornell University’s Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service,Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, the Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (School of the Arts) and Texas A&M University at Qatar.

Qatar University
Although it’s clear that Qatar isn’t short of academic opportunities, Qatar University stands out as the leader among homegrown universities in Qatar. In the latest QS Arab Region University Rankings, it’s ranked third within the region. It also features in the QS World University Rankings 2021, at joint 245th.
Located on the northern outskirts of the nation’s capital, Doha, Qatar University is a public university currently home to around 16,000 students. The school’s academic programs are taught in both English (for natural sciences, engineering, and business) and Arabic (for arts, education, and social sciences) across seven colleges. These include the faculties of law, Sharia and Islamic studies, business, and economics, engineering, pharmacy, and education. Qatar University’s research facilities include laboratories, technical equipment, libraries, rare manuscripts, and even a sea-faring vessel.
Of the current student body, around 65 percent are Qatari nationals and 35 percent are children of expatriates living in Qatar. A majority (70 percent) are women.
